I suppose we all don't appreciate some things until they're gone. I didn't realize how great Roseland was as a place to grow up. You could walk anywhere and be safe and if you did any wrong the neighbor's' hot line' to you folks would beat you home. I went thru St. Catherine of Genoa, Mendel CHS ('56) and Northern ILL. U. The first 18 years of my life was divided between the Gano area , (116th & Normal) Palmer Park . West Pullman Park , Fernwood Park playing baseball with Mendel's team , the Roseland Chiefs and Braves. Cruising the "ave" and socializing at Palisades. I met my future wife at Fat Man Burgers on Michigan Ave. Too bad we can't go home to walk the streets slowly and reminice. I never realized how many Roselandites feel the same. Our version of 'Camelot" perhaps?

I just want to thank you for all you have done to bring back Roseland to all of us. I know you put a tremendous amount of work and effort into this site and brought many many folks back together. Wishing you and Alice the best in the coming years, good health and longevity. Many blessing and again, thank you for the many years you have devoted to the "Golden Years!"
