Hi, We lived in Roseland until 1973. The best years of my life were spent there. There will never be another place like it.

Loved the south side and nothing beat Roseland. Attended Fernwood 1960-1967 and then moved to the suburbs. I still tell people about Gatley's doughnut machine. I bought my model cars at Stu de Jongs and was waited on by 3 generations over the years.

Raised in Roseland in the 50's and 60's when it was a very nice family neighborhood.

Tom Superits graduated from Mendel High School in 1966 and grew up on 115th and Eggleston. Please email me of future gatherings. Nothing today compares with Roseland back in the glory days.

Went to Fernwood from 1946 through half of my 7th grade (1953).
Moved to Denver, CO
I lived at 9801 Peoria St. Had I stayed in zone 43 I would have gone to Fenger as did my pal Wayne Wiltshire (RIP 2006). Returned for the 8th grade graduation June '54.
Retired in '04, living in the Mojave Desert of CA after 47 years in Orange County CA. Quite a change from the southside.

I really miss Roseland. Even though I lived in West Pullman, I went to school at St. Willibrord's. Those really were the good old days.

Loved Roseland! I was born at Roseland Comm Hosp.
My parents did all their shopping there. We lived in Thornton
and I recall riding the bus into town on many occasions. All the stores were great, esp Gately's and the State and Roseland theaters. What memories!
