Hi all. I lived in this great community in the 50's. Went to Brennen and then Fenger. Worked for Sam and Virginia at the "Normal Sweet Shop" after school and probably served lots of Fatman Burgers and milk shakes to the Roseland crowd. Is the Fatman bar in Blue Island still owned by the Andricopolous family if anyone knows? What a great place to grow up on 111th Place near the tracks. My phone # was Commodore 4 8632. Send an email if you have any old photos of the Sweet Shop.

Love the new site! Very awesome to see the old pictures and videos (or movies)! Thanks.
One suggestion....the rock group STYX originated in Roseland and I think it would be appropriate to have some of their songs on the Juke Box (or mentioned somewhere in this website). They are still touring and I think it would make Roseland proud that their great music began in our wonderful neighborhoods. They absolutely deserve the recognition!
Thank you!

I was born in Roseland Community Hospital in 1955 and lived in Roseland until 1971. I attended Kohn School and then went to Curtiss and Fenger where I transferred out in my senior year..I have fond memories of the neighborhood. I enjoyed your website.
